Wal-Mart announced some new measures apparently to help spur the economy from the private sector side.
Its plan centers on 3 aspects:
- Hiring 100,000 veterans over the next 5 years, including positions at its headquarters and distribution centers
- Spend $50B over the next decade on American-made merchandise (with an emphasis on sporting goods, clothing, storage products, games and paper products)
- Help its part-time workers move onto full-time positions
