Any fears that the show will be missing its more experimental episodes following creator Dan Harmon’s departure should be allayed by this announcement, it’s the execution that should worry fans (for the record though, I think the shows’s been doing fine, perhaps not as good as the past 2 stellar seasons, but not terrible, I’m sure some hardcore Harmon fans would disagree).
Concerning the plot of the show, from the Hollywood Reporter article: “In the episode, the study group recounts their adventures in the woods, which has left them feeling a little awkward with one another, and Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) encourages them to speak about their experience with the use of puppets. Expect to see Jeff (Joel McHale), Pierce (Chevy Chase), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown), Abed (Danny Pudi), Annie (Alison Brie), Troy (Donald Glover) and Chang (Ken Jeong) in puppet form.”
Also in the article, some tidbits about future episodes, one that caught my eye: “An episode focusing on how the study group came to be will shed light on the time before we were introduced to the Greendale gang. Guarascio teased that viewers will go back to “how it came to be.” Expect Annie’s boobs (the monkey) to make a cameo.”
P.S. If you’re a fan of this show, tune in live on Thursdays! The first episode of the season had great ratings (relative to the rest of NBC…) but it’s dropped off considerably and quickly to middling ratings (again, compared to other NBC comedies). So tune in live (especially if you’re a Nielsen viewer if you want to make 6seasonsandamovie a reality! </end plug>
